Befriending Week: 1 – 7 November 2022

The first week in November marked the tenth anniversary of Befriending Week and to celebrate we organised a few events.  We kicked the week off with a tea and cake meet-up for all the volunteers to thank them for all their hard work and dedication.  We are blessed with several longstanding volunteers who came out in force to meet and cheer on some of the new members.  While we were busy chatting, laughing and admiring one of the volunteer’s bold move to royal purple hair the CEO of the charity played “mother” and served us. 

We hosted coffee mornings to attract new volunteers at both of our offices.  One of the days a new volunteer came to help man the table and biscuits were on the ready for anyone who came.  It was a joy to meet everyone who came through the door.  And chat about the befriending service and how we operate.  We also offer a transport service, and we have clients who are linked between the two as well as volunteers through out the years.  We even had individuals from other agencies visit and chat and seek out how our service can interact with their own.   

As you can see from the pictures some of the volunteers was enjoying the chance to get together and catch up.
